Aditya JhaA philanthropist at heart and an entrepreneur with passion, Aditya Jha's life journey in Canada is a living example of how one can build a successful career/ venture and in the process help cause of Canada, a land of dreams for new migrants.  Through his entrepreneurial feats of actualizing one's dream even with high risk taking as well as his acts of generous giving to those outside his community; he has demonstrated a rare sensitivity towards the needs of the country he emigrated to and adopted as his own. 

Aditya is President & CEO of Karma Candy Inc, one of North America's largest contract manufacturer of branded and premium private label chocolate and candy products. It manufactures for some of the top national and international confectionery brands as well as for global retailers. He is also Co-Founder of Osellus Inc., Canada and Osellus Asia Pacific Ltd, Thailand. Prior to this, Aditya co-founded a software company, Isopia Inc., Canada, which was acquired by Sun Microsystems in July 2001. He had a successful career at Bell Canada as General Manager, eBusiness & Product Marketing before he co-founded Isopia. Aditya also founded a private charitable foundation (POA Educational Foundation) in 2001 and has created endowments ($815,000) at four institutions (Ryerson University, York University, Trent University and George Brown College), and these endowments grant in total thirteen scholarship awards ($40,000 annually) to students (large focus on students from the aboriginal community of Canada). He is the Chairperson for UNICEF Canada India HIV/AIDS campaign ($3 Million). Aditya sponsors and is running a unique initiative (fifth year) in the area of Venture Philanthropy working with the office of the Grand Chief of Nishnawbe Aski Nation as well as Ryerson University and Trent University to nurture entrepreneurship within aboriginal communities of Canada (http://www.projectbeyshick.com/).

Prashant PathakPrashant Pathak is a senior advisor of the POA Educational Foundation on issues pertaining to social venture capital and entrepreneurship. Currently he is leading the Social Venture Capital Fund (SVCF) initiative. The SVCF initiative is a result of POA's flagship initiatives - 'Project Beyshick' and 'Project Beyshick Business Plan Competition'. Project Beyshick nurtures prosperity and financial independence amongst First Nations communities and individuals by encouraging and mentoring entrepreneurial efforts. The Business Plan competition was a successful pilot for the SVCF project. Prashant has been working with several institutions and corporations in Canada to launch the project in full scale. He has been an active mentor for Project Beyshick since its inception in 2005.

Prashant brings to the SVCF and Project Beyshick initiatives his expertise and knowledge as a private equity investor, advisor to Fortune 500 corporations and general management experience gained in operating roles. He is currently the Managing Partner of ReichmannHauer Capital Partners (RHCP) a business building oriented private equity fund.

Ashutosh Kumar JhaAshutosh is a graduate of Trinity College, University of Toronto (2006) as well as the Rotman School of Management ("Bridge to Business" program, 2006). Currently he works at Accenture Inc. - a global management consulting, technology and outsourcing company. He has been with the foundation  since its inception. He is also a former entrepreneur.

ImageChandra has 25 years of global experience in sales, marketing and general management spanning three continents. He has lived and worked in USA, Australia, Singapore, Middle East and India.

He holds BS (Hons.) and MBA from Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS) Pilani India. As the President of BITS Alumni Association of Silicon Valley Chapter (www.bitsaa-svc.org) for 2006-07, he led implementation of two major initiatives: a) Promote entrepreneurship among alumni in Silicon Valley, and b)  Project Embryo under which alumni from North America and Europe deliver lectures over internet to various BITS campuses in India. This project has already helped his alma mater in augmenting onsite faculty with industry experienced teaching resources. For 2008-09, he is on the board of directors for BITSAA International.

Chandra is a Senior Advisor to POA Educational Foundation (www.poafoundation.org) which supports projects based on three distinct values: the promotion of accessible and high-quality education, the nurturing of entrepreneurship, and the strengthening of global civil society and governance. 

He is also a founder of Nuva College of Engineering & Technology (NUVA), Nagpur India (www.nuvaedu.com). NUVA is the first engineering college in India founded by alumni of BITS Pilani and UMass Amherst.

Chandra spends his time in San Francisco bay area, Toronto and India.

ImageShiva Gautam is an Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School; currently he is also the Biostatistics director of Harvard-Thorndike General Clinical Research Center at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (a teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School). Prior to joining Harvard, he was an Associate Professor of Biostatistics at Vanderbilt University and a biostatistician at the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center of Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He also held faculty positions at Oklahoma State University, University of Vermont and Northeastern Ohio Universities College Medicine. He received his PhD in statistics from the University of Texas at Dallas and post doctoral training from Medical University of South Carolina. He also held academic position at Tribhuvan University, Nepal and taught at different campuses including the university’s central Campus (Kathmandu), Min Bhawan Campus (Kathmandu), PN Campus (Pokhara, Nepal) and Mahendra Morang Campus (Biratnagar, Nepal) at various occasions.
