Aditya Jha, a non-resident Nepali and successful Canadian Entrepreneur, visited Arya Tara School on October 16, 2008 and presented 15 children’s laptop computers to students at Nuns' Welfare Foundations Arya Tara School.

Prashant Pathak, Senior Advisor of the POA Educational Foundation has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC). Prashant advises the foundation on issues pertaining to social venture capital and entrepreneurship. He currently leads the First Nations Social Venture Capital Fund (SVCF) initiative of the foundation. Prashant is also active with Project Beyshick, that nutures entrepreneurship amongst the first nations youth.

The POA Educational Foundation is looking for volunteers in Canada and Nepal who have interest in, and are able to help with the e-Infrastructure Project. Volunteers in Canada may have the opportunity to travel to Nepal to help set-up the infrastructure, define required processes and required training around this project.

Toronto, March 14 – A pilot project to assess the feasibility for developing e-Infrastructure in Nepali schools has been recently launched through sponsorship from POA Educational Foundation, Canada of Aditya Jha (www.poafoundation.org) and leadership of Dr. Shiva Gautam, Harvard University. The pilot project involves10 high schools in Katmandu through donation of 50 computers and printers. The pilot project was launched after signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Ministry of Education, Government of Nepal. Contingent upon the results and experience from the pilot, both the Government of Nepal and project team hopes to launch it in all Nepalese schools in phases.

Lieutenant Governor in Council of Ontario has announced appointment of Aditya Jha (Chairman, POA Educational Foundation) to the Ontario Investment and Trade Advisory Council (OITAC). The objective of the Council is to identify prospective investment and trade opportunities for Ontario; promote Ontario as a premier location for business investment and for business immigration; identify the potential for international linkages that could lead to new investment and export opportunities and provide advice to the Minister on how the Ministry can increase the effectiveness of its investment and trade programs.

OTTAWA, ONTARIO (November 2, 2007) - Our Government today announced the appointment of Aditya Jha to the Board of Directors of the First Nations Financial Management Board(FMB).

Toronto, February 18th 2007 - Project Beyshick, the annual job shadowing program that  connects young people from aboriginal communities throughout Northern Ontario with CEOs from Canada’s leading corporations, will present the inaugural Business Plan Contest Award to Darcy Kejick on February 28,2007.

Film Circuit, a TIFFG initiative that tours Canadian films across the Canada and around the world will be visiting New Delhi and Kathmandu in January 2007 as part of a tour of India and Nepal. Aditya Jha through his foundation has generously agreed to sponsor the Nepal segment of the tour and to further assist Film Circuit with the administration and logistics of the trip to Nepal.

I knew early on that I wanted to bring back a lasting example of my experience at The Globe and Mail.

To achieve this, I asked Sylvia Stead, deputy editor at The Globe and Mail if I could write a story about Project Beyshick and lay it out on a fake front page (known as a flat in industry lingo) and bring it back to the POA Foundation as a way of saying thank you and because I wanted to contribute to its support in some way.

TORONTO, May 12 - The POA Foundation is proud to announce the launch of its 2nd annual Canadian development endeavor, Project Beyshick. This year, 25 individuals will be selected to participate in the mentorship program aimed at nurturing entrepreneurship among First Nations communities.

TORONTO, ON:  Nishnawbe Aski Nation (NAN) Deputy Grand Chief Alvin Fiddler today acknowledged the participation of ten business executives from Torontos downtown core in a youth mentoring project, Project Beyshick, involving ten youth from Nishnawbe Aski Nation territory an area covering two-thirds of Ontario and home to 49 First Nation communities.
