- What is Project Beyshick?
Project Beyshick is an entrepreneurship program designed to provide
students and youth from Canadian aboriginal communities with the
opportunity to job shadow CEOs and senior-level executives from some of
Canada’s leading companies over three consecutive days. The priority
for each participant is strictly to observe his/her mentor.
Participants will not be asked to get coffee or make photocopies.
- What does Beyshick mean?
Beyshick means One in the local language of the Nishnawbe Aski Nation.
- What is the Nishnawbe Aski Nation (NAN)?
The Nishnawbe Aski Nation (NAN) is a political organization
representing 49 First Nations communities across northern Ontario. The
NAN territory runs from the Manitoba border to the Quebec border,
within the Hudson Bay's and James Bay's watersheds. NAN occupies
between one-half and two-thirds of Ontario, spanning a land mass 700 x
400 miles across the north of the province. The estimated population of
the NAN communities is 25,000. For more information, visit the

- Who is organizing Project Beyshick?
Project Beyshick is a joint initiative between the POA Educational Foundation and Nishnawbe Aski Nation (NAN).
- What is the POA Educational Foundation?
POA Educational Foundation is a charitable foundation that aims to
provide support for educational and entrepreneurial initiatives that
target regions with specific challenges and pressing needs.
- When and where is Project Beyshick scheduled to take place?
The 2006 program is scheduled to take place in August 2006. The 2005 program took place from August 24-28 in Toronto, Ontario.
